Question about certain channels on PRO-95

I have a question for you guys, I have a pro-95 and i was told that i can lock out certain channels that i want. For instance: I have programmed all of Ocean City edacs system in my scanner. I want to only hear police and fire/ems. How do i lock out those channels only without getting all the other such as transportation, buses, waste, public works.....someone please help!!!!!!!!!

You mean Talkgroups...not channels. Review page 65 in the owners manual.
After locking the TG's out then scan in the Closed Mode. Review page 68 for toggling Open/Closed.

Or you can program in the talkgroup you want if you are using win 95 and don't have to lock out the talkgroups but still have to scan in closed mode just another option.

One more thing - you're using "lock out" in the opposite sense it normally is. If you lock out a channel or talk group - you WONT get that one. I think what you're looking for is the scan in closed mode that they're talking about. We have a mixed analog digital system, in addition to all the ones I just don't care to hear. I was trying to lock out the digital talk groups, because my scanner doesn't do digital, but I just didn't have enough lockout Id's. If the scanner stops on the garbage trucks, it's a nuisance, but not quite so annoying as getting a digital talk group with the volume up.

And totally related as I find customers asking this all the time.

"How do I stay with a conversation while in trunked mode"

Answer: While a conversation is taking place, Hold the TRUNK button until it beeps and you get "ID Hold On" displayed on the bottom line of the scanner. Your scanner will not change from that talkgroup and you can follow conversations. Press TRUNK or SCAN to resume to normal scan mode.
