BCD436HP/BCD536HP: Question about discovery

Hi There!

I am new at scanning and I was just wondering about the specifics of using "Discovery" mode on the BCD426HP.

- If you scan a p25 system, will the radio tell you talkgroup numbers? If not, how do you find out what talkgroups people are using?
- Will the radio tell you which frequencies are the control channels?
- Am I supposed to do anything with the NAC that shows up?
- I am confused about what system means, is a system just 1 section of connected radios? (so a p25 system is only other people that talk to eachother?)

Yes, check the Radioreference database to see what's been identified

Trunking Discovery Mode, no. Conventional Discovery Mode, yes
- Am I supposed to do anything with the NAC that shows up?
No, the scanner knows what to do

Have a read at the easier to read manual. It should hopefully address all of your questions
