I have an LDG RT-100 external antenna auto tuner for my vertical and I wanted to know how I was supposed to ground it. The instructions tell me that I need to connect it to the antenna ground system, so what does this mean exactly? Do I just stick a rod in the ground and connect it to the tuner's ground or somehow connect it to the base of the antenna? This might be a stupid question but grounding things never seems to be cut and dry to me.

If you have a vertical, you should have quite an extensive system of ground radials or an earth mat around the base of the antenna and the mat should extend out a quarter-wavelength of the lowest frequency in all directions.
That's the antenna ground that your tuner should be connected to.

Right I've got a whole bunch of radials but I just didn't know if I was supposed to connect it to the same place as the radials or not. I guess I'll go ahead and do that.
