Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_1_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7D11 Safari/528.16)

It will not be able to pick that frequency up, not khz and definitely not MHz.

What are you trying to listen to?

If it's what I think, you'll have better luck experimenting with the 902 to 928 range.

Also 43.00-50.0 MHz. :p

hmmmm.... somebody wanting to eavesdrop on cordless phones?

Must be as there are far easier ways to try and break wifi.

Lol. If he wants to break wifi by actually listening to the signal, all power to him. :D

Also, what is that freq licensed to? A little googling brought me to a "mobile transmitter" out of a specific state.

Lat: 31.455000 Lon: -91.315000, Call Sign: WPZT280, Licensee ID: L00022623

Assigned Frequencies : 2461.50 MHz, 2465.50 MHz

Grant Date: 03/09/2004, Expiration Date: 03/09/2014, Certifier: Chuck Mayfield

Registrant: Adams County Ms, 2xx South Wall Street, Natchez, MS 39120, Phone: (602) 442-xxxx

google street view shows a building with an ambulance and police cruising in the parking lot. Related?

I feel obligated to warn you that monitoring phones is very illegal. But with that said, if hes a really good friend, I have no objections. Regardless, you won't be able to monitor any newer phone with that scanner, and possibly any consumer grade equipment.

How did you hear about 2461.500? I'm not 100% sure it's a phone freq. But it is in the 2.4ghz range. Just curious how you came up with that freq.

looking at the license WPZT280 comes back to what appears to be a repeater and also states it is a govt entity
FCC said:
Eligibility
90 - APPLICANT IS A GOVERNMENTAL ENTITY. RADIOS WILL BE USED TO COORDINATE PERSONNEL FOR THE JURISDICTION

With 2 freqs of 2461.5 and 2465.5 different but could be the sheriff

Fortunately, GA
My guess is a microwave link between the data terminal in the cars and the dispatch.
Edit: After looking in the database here on RR, your county is on VHF lo, VHF hi, and UHF. It also includes a LTR Passport system. It may be a link to the Passport system via the VHF radios in the cars. Just a guess.

It is beyond me.. im not buying a AR-one to find out though, lol. i think the bcd996xt will be enough for me, i like listening to 2 meter and 440 meter alot, im really just in it to listen to all police and state troopers! Im pretty simple, but i guess i like to have the peace of mind that i have a scanner that will meet all my expectations for the money!

That scanner should more than fulfill your needs. :)
