question about LTR data

I've got my 97 all set up for when brunswick county goes LTR trunked. But it's been picking up all types of white noise. do you think that once the system goes in will alot of this clear up or what?

If the "white noise" goes on and off in some intelligent-sounding fashion, rather than random or constant noise, and especially if there are beeps or other noises at the beginning or end of each noise blast, then you are experiencing digital voice or digital encryption. Neither of those things will go away.

That's probably DES, as said in the above post. You'll hear white noise and than a long beep and the end. You won't be able to listen to this, just lockout the talkgroup.
