Question about MN Digital System

Can anyone tell me if this system is only going to be for the state patrol and the bigger cities, or are all the smaller counties and towns going to be using it too.

I live in Big Stone County, and according to the ARMER site, it says our patrol district should be in operation...(If I understand it correctly). Just wondering if my county will ever be going to this system or not. It really doesn't matter though cuz I already got the 296D so I can hear SD!!

While I live in the Twin Cities, it's my understanding that over time this will be a Statewide sytem.

With that thought in mind, don't forget that this will be for SP use. The other counties and cities have yet to commit to this system at this point.

I believe the end goal is within the next 3-6 years for the entire state to be operational on this system.

It will be a statewide system, for all agencies. The immediate metro area has only a few cities left to convert to digital... Bloomington, Eden Prairie, Golden Valley/St Louis Park. Dakota county is already testing the digital system and they will be operating on it within about 6 months. Stearns County already made the switch, Ramsey County will be making the switch in a few months, as will St Paul, Maplewood, Washington County etc. Rochester/Olmsted County is making the switch within the next year.

Other major cities outside the metro, and some county-level agencies should be expected to switch within about three years, while the rest may take as long as another five to six years.
