This Moore thing is plenty confusing. I have been under the unwavering impression that the Moore site was to have the same ten or so channels that the OKC site has - since fast2okc posted the license information that he found to that effect. Circumstances do change, and anything is possible.

If there are additional or different frequencies, the only way that I would have to identify them would be to locate the control channel and watch the display of my scanner and note the frequencies that are used. That may get some of them.

I'll be working at my desk tomorrow. If someone identifies a control channel that is different from the one in use at the OKC site, please post it, and I'll do what I can with the resources that I have to help get it nailed down.

I wouldn't nevermind just yet. There was a post quite some time ago from an individual that might have had some insight as to what was actually happening and I think that the frequency number that he mentioned was 19.

This is so convoluted that I wouldn't be surprised if, when the site does come on line, it communicates by light signals.

As loaded as the OKC Site is, simulcast doesn't make much sense, at least in the long term.

I just noticed that this thread has been big time hijacked!

They are tied through the smartzone system. They can roam to the OKC site if they are out of range of Norman's site. It works kinda like your cell phone, it finds the strongest control channnel and affiliates to that site.
There are also several talkgroups that are system wide and can be used for interagency communications away from the main dispatch talkgroups to keep from tying up their traffic. In essence a Norman or Moore Police Unit could relay information to a Tulsa Unit in the event that say Tulsa found a stolen car from a robbery in Norman. Pretty cool stuff.

I love it, I really Love it..

WoodyRR: You kill me...I love it.

PB: You need to come to the Scanner meeting tonight at 7pm at the Chinese Place in MWC. See the thread for better directions but I think it is near 15th/Air Depot.

I am now running trunker on the DPS OKC site 24/7 to watch for any kind of change in setup. The frequencies are sent out by the CC to tell what they are for the units in the field so theoretically I should see them when they change. I was Etrunking on OKC but that really isn't a lot of fun anymore since the majority of the users TG's are in the DB and the activity on the mutual aid side is still sporadic since they are dealing with a lot of other stuff at the moment. I guess I need a second computer. Oh well mam1081 can be our source for the OKC traffic.

Update: see thread http://www.radioreference.com/forums/showthread.php?t=52704

The post to which I was referring citing the 19 frequencies was a couple of months ago from someone who is likely involved in the actual construction of the site.

Could it be 17 voice channels and 2 Control Channels maybe.

You both could be right.
