If you have the software running, you should see what options you have...

I'm not sure if the HT1000 can have any other funtion besides emergency for the orange button. The more advanced Jedis (MT2000/MTS2000) can have other funtions assigned to it.

It also depends on the version of the radio. AN and BN versions are very limited. I don't have a DN (the last version) handy to play with.

For a BN

Button 1&2
Blank
RAT
Light Button
Scan and Scan Programming
Select Button
Single Tone Encode #1, #2
Scan Programming Status
Scan On/Off

Button 3
Monitor
Monitor/Scan Prog. Status
+ all the above.

No options for the orange button.

This is a screen grab of the options avaiable on the JT1000. Most would be avaiable on the HT1000 as well, but this chart looks nice :D

"B" is the revision. They started with the "A", and ended with the "D". I'm not 100% sure what all of the revisions were, but I know some of them had to do with being able to have both narrowband and "regular" bandwidth freqs in the radio. I just picked up a "D" for a good price, just need to play with it when I can to see how well it works.
