For all the Washington County fans, I have a question about Oakdale Fire Dept. Does anybody know why Oakdale 7200 station is paged out first for EVERY call, then 7290 is paged if it is in their area? And what is 7280? Sounds like it is only paged when the rest of Oakdale is out of ambulances. Anybody know why? Thanks!!

From what I have heard, it sounds like 7200 is the ambulance and 7280/7290 are the stations. The ambulance gets paged first for medicals, then they page a station for a rescue unit if needed.

Ok. So would it be like Maplewoods station 6? The station doesn't exist, but it signifies that it a medical? I'm not sure though, I believe 7280 is only paged when there are no more trucks available. It is very rare for me to hear 7280 get paged out. I have heard 7290, which is the Hadley station get paged out to Carmike Theatres off of 10th st. I would think 7280 is closer. haha, this is killing me.. Thanks for your answer though! I think we're getting somewhere.

They are dispatched on the Ramsey county mains on Ramsey county towers.

And I am also thinking Woodbury 2200 is the same way. I just realized that. I hear 2200 paged, then an ambulance goes enroute, usually 2259, 69 or 79.

Cottage Grove FD is doing the same thing now for medicals...there is a "duty crew" page (3100) for the 1st medical, with the duty crew ambulance checking into service (831, 832, 834). After that they switch to a squad page (1,2,4,11,22,44) for the 2nd and 3rd medical until the 3100 crew checks back in service.

Oakdale Fire has a 24/7 full time crew, therefore they are always the first to be toned. Then if they need more help they will page the station that covers that area. 7280 - north station 7290 - south station.

Woodbury Fire has a full time crew from 05-19 hrs daily. After that time medicals are paged based on the EMS crew/squad that is on duty (either 49/69 or 59/79). As for fires after 19 hrs the closet station is paged. For structure fires an ALL CALL tone is sent right away same for Oakdale.

Cottage Grove has an on duty crew 24/7 which is made up by volunteer firefighters and EMT's. They do hqve one full time fire/medic on from 06-18 everyday. The "3100" tone activates the on-duty people and then in turn when a 2nd call or more comes out then they will advised to tone sqds. The squd #'s are: 1,11,2,22,4,44

Hope this clears things up.

Thank you! It did! One more question though, where is Oakdale's full time crew housed? What station are they at?
