In the manual it says that mot and edac need to be in a different bank then the fm does anyone know if this really matters or should they be in different banks

the bank must be set to motorola or edaks and then each frequency must also be set. I don't know how you set a bank to more than one. You can put two motorola and there are a lot of discussion on here about how to do that. Edacs must be entered in LCN order so would be almost impossible to find a system that does not duplicate the channel numbers, not the frequencies.

I'm not sure what you are asking about the fm.

LCN is the order the frequencies that are programmed with an EDACS system. If you program EDACS, you always start programming with the channel 1.

Conventional is just a way to say NON-TRUNKING.

No you don't. You enter each channel in it's proper place, if channel 1 is a channel then that is fine, but not all EDACS (or LTR) systems use channel 1!
