hi all, i am ready to program the local park rangers inear my house. It says that they are using the apco-25, (have a 396T), but the freqs they use are stanadard numbers. My question is how do i use ARC for this system, since it doesnt truck, do i put the freqs in manually, or do i do like i would a trunked, digital system? thanks

Unless something's changed recently, you'd need to using the "beta" version (1.05) of ARC396 to be able to download conventional frequentions. The non-beta version, 1.04, only imports trunk system info. (This thread concerns the 330, but the procedure is the same.)

If the park rangers are Apco-25 (digital), but not on a trunked system, just put those frequencies in a conventional system. Don't set a PL/CTCSS tone or DCS code, & don't set that field to "Search. Leave it set to "None". The scanner will notice that the transmission is digital & handle the rest for you.
