Question about scanning in birmingham area

do jefferson county emergency services still just use analog that i could pick up with a non didgital/trunking scanner? i live in trussville, but i travel around jefferson county a good bit and would like to hear as much as i can.

also, does anyone know if or when trussville will be swapping to either trunked or digital if they are currently analog? im looking to invest in a good scanner that will last me awhile and wanted to consider future upgrades to the communications systems.
