I just picked up a Pro-83 today and so far, it seems to be a pretty good little scanner. I'm a little confused about the "signal stalker" function. It states in the instructions, that to enable it, you need to turn the squelch knob all the way clockwise. It seems to me that would desensitize the scanner to the point where it wouldn't pickup anything. Is the squelch disabled when using the "signal stalker" function?

Thanks for the comeback Jerry. On every scanner I've ever owned, the most sensitive adjustment for the squelch is to turn it counterclockwise until you hear static and then turn it back clockwise until it just goes silent. It would seem that the way they are saying to adjust it would make it less sensitive to weak signals.
