So I have read some real good things on them, and have searched for my question with no luck really getting all questions answered.

My handheld is a GRE PSR-300.

I listen on a mix of

153.*** - 159.*** and 453.*** - 484.***

with one town on an 800 MHz reband, and the State Police in this area on the 800 MHz trunked.

I don't know much about antennas and am trying to learn more, as I want to upgrade the antennas on my PSR-300 and my BCT-15 (Thinking of an attic antenna but that's for a different post/search).

I know Universal Radio says it will work on those frequencies, but I wanted to ask the users and see what you guys had to say.

Thanks.

The 800 is a minimal part of my listening, and is fairly local. Will it sound fine (as good as my stock rubber duck) or will I severely lose listening strength on those frequencies?
