question about the RS 20-032 antenna

I have two of these antennas one on my 2055 and the other sittign around. I am using my pro 95 to monitor newhanover 800 with the RS 800mhz duckie. My question is this. If i reduce this antenna down to either 2 pieces or 1 piece will it help me pick up the 800 mhz system better? If i could i would be using something better but funds are a little short for radio equipment right now. Would this show any better gain? I am looking to one day to buy a 800 mhz antenna for this.

You could park on the control channel, and compare the %%% you are getting. One easy way to check it out.

i dont think the pro 95 shows percentages but i'll try that

I figured you would use the 2055 for testing. I just didn't think I had to say it.....

far as i can tell the 2055 fdoesnt do percentages either, none that i can see

If you choose the contral channel manually, the 97 & 2055 will show the percentage.

ok tried it with the full antenna got around 76 percent from newhanover and 35 from horry county
