Question about this antenna

Anyone have or used one of these?

I purchased one for a backup to be put in my attic. I have the Scantenna but picked up this discone for $10.50 !!!!! Just waiting on it to arrive and wondering if anyone else has purchased one in the past.

Just for FYI, it is sold by Lee Electronics as their discount discone antenna. Not sure of the actual sale price of the item when Lee Electronics were in business. They went out of business on May 1, and the rest of the stock is ebay bound.

I have one in my attic.

I have been using one of these in my attic for a couple years now. It is a good antenna and I am very pleased with it. It doesn't do very good on the lower frequencies like C.B. so I made an adapter that allowed me to add a C.B. whip to the top of the antenna. Unfortunately I was disappointed because it didn't improve reception very much. It seems to be constructed very solid since the radials are stainless steel solid rods not tubing. To sum it up it is good antenna, but not the best.--Gary

My primary monitoring is VHF-High band between 150 and 160 MHz as well as a little air band monitoring.
