Hello all, this is my first post (NOOB!) and I have what most of you will probably deem as stupid questions but here's what I would like to know:

I purchased a Yagi antenna tuned to 1200Mhz. It has a bandwidth of 100Mhz. I made the poor judgement of assuming that this means anything between 1200-1300Mhz was going to be perfect, hence I intend on operating on the 1280Mhz band. Am I going to notice any significant loss in using this Yagi as a receiver antenna while I am transmitting on the 1280Mhz band? Thanks in advance for any helpful insight I may receive.

If you purchased an antenna tuned for a center frequency of 1200 MHz with a bandwidth of 100 MHz, then the specs are probably guaranteed from 1150 to 1250 MHz. Using the antenna at 1280 MHz may be outside its tuned bandwidth. You would have to review the SWR plot for the antenna to get a better idea of how it would perform at 1280 MHz.

What service are you using this antenna for?
