Question about win500

Does anyone know if I can program a WS-1040 with the same win500 program I use with my radio shack

Yep.

Win500 will work on the PSR500/-600, Pro-106/-197, Ws1040/-1065, and Pro-651/-652.The same file would work on any/all of these scanners.

They are pretty much the same. I use the same Win500 files on my Pro-197 (GRE era) and Pro-651 (Whistler era) and they work about identically on both.
