Question for Paul re UASD software

Hey Paul,

I use the UASD software for the 246T, BCT15, and 996T. Recently the hard drive on my lap top crashed and I lost everything. I kept the database files stored away on an external hard drive but I had to reinstall the UASD software for all three scanners. Since I reinstalled I lost the registration codes I originally had. I called customer service today and they told me that they issue those and then forget about them and have no records. Furthermore they told me that I would have to buy the software again and that there was nothing they could do to help me. (Obviously this is less of a problem for the 996T since that software is free). Does this seem right to you? It seems pretty ridiculous that they wouldn't have a record or if they don't that they wouldn't issue a new number for loyal customers when things like this happen. Anyone else on the forums have this problem?

Seems like a good time and reason to switch to something like Freescan which supports all three of your scanners in one program and should import your USD data files.

It's been a long time since I used it, so I may be forgetting something, but when did you ever have to buy UASD?

Consider this another vote for Freescan by the way. Very well written, supports multiple scanners with one data file, and as the name says, free.

UASD is free only for the digital scanners (396 & 996).
To get a full feature (working) version as to a fairly crippled demo for the analog scanners (246, BCT-15, BR330), you do have to purchase a registration key.
