I'm looking at getting a PSR-300. There is 1 nice feature in the PRO-162 that I'm curious if it's been added to the PSR-300 in a firmware update: have they added an automatic backlight option? This feature automatically turns on the lcd's backlight when the scanner is receiving a signal, and then turns it off after a few seconds of inactivity. I know the manual mentions the "normal", "keypress" & "ignore" modes, but just curious if they've added an automatic mode in a recent firmware update.

Thanks,
HB

No, the PSR-300 does not have that option. That feature was also on the PRO-528, the unit that the 162 has replaced.

One other nice feature about the light that the PSR-300 has, is that you can have the lcd backlight stay on infinately if you want. The Pro-162 can't do that.
