Question on antenna upgrade Stock 996p2

Currently I have the stock antenna mounted on a pole about about 15ft. with Quad shielded rg6, Would swapping the factory collapsible antenna for a RS discone give a good boost in signal? I monitor mostly local and Close call stuff.

The cable I'm using is 20 FT i may jump to 30FT and try to get antenna 20ft if it would make a good improvement

With proper cabling and with the short distance you are talking about, you will most likely get a huge improvement using a discone over remoting the stock antenna via coax. The telescopic whip is a comprise when mounted to the radio directly but it will be an extremely inefficient antenna at the end of a coax run.
