I know police and Sherriff have gone encrypted. I live in the Lake Stevens area in Snohomish County I have been told I can still listen to Fire.
they have 2 trunk systems North and South I tried setting it up as a favorite list as North Fire and South Fire and Sind them a FLQK 1 and 2
the only thing I see is north fire and not south fire or sometimes I see south fire, and not north fire' both keys are on, but I don't hear anything.
SO, what do I need to do to pick up north and south fire? I'm using a SDS-200
Are you trying to listen to your Favorites Lists AND the National Database with Zip-Code location enabled?
If so, that can be kinda hard to determine what is/is not working.
Turn OFF the National Database, and focus on modifying the Favorites Lists via Sentinel.
Use
tvengr's Favorites List, as he put in the time and effort to help you from across the nation. I just took a look, and he did a very nice job arranging the lists and truncating the channel names. It took me about 3 minutes to import to Sentinel, and It's a good starting point.
Once imported to Sentinel, go into the Edit--->Edit Profile area, and insure the Monitor and Download are turned "On" for the new Favorite(s) lists. If not turned on, they won't go into the scanner.
Upload to Scanner. Be sure to check the "Erase Favorites Lists on Scanner" box, as that'll insure the programming doesn't duplicate what's already in the radio.
If you're going to just use the radio at your house, I'd Avoid (lock-out) the North Simulcast sites for now, as you live well within the South Simulcast system. Keeping it simple can help you see if stuff is working to your liking. The North Simulcast can be turned on (un-Avoided) later, if you decide to put the radio in your car.
Or, set up one Favorites List with the North Simulcast system only, and one Favorites List with the South Simulcast system only. Pick the Favorites List based on where you are in the county (north vs south).
If all of this is still not making sense, go to Youtube or some of the various Uniden programming blogs that can be found with a simple Google or DuckDuckGo search. Most of us had to do this in the beginning to learn the tricks. But once you figure it out, the radio works really well and is quite configurable.
As a last resort - export your Favorites list(s), and send them to me. I'll look them over. You have my email address.
Brad.
