Question On My Pro-2096

Is there a way I can make the MONTGOMERY COUNTY FIRE/RESCUE come on as the first thing? I mean when they dispatch calls on 7A I sometimes do not get them due to the police being on, so how do I or can I change it? I did get the win 96 program, so can change it from there if it can be done? If not then maybe I can have the man who programmed my scanner come back out to fix it. Also for those who told me I could not pick up CALVERT COUNTY, MD, well I can pick them up on most days & on some calls.

Move "MONTGOMERY COUNTY FIRE/RESCUE" to bank 0.
Use the "bank editor" in Win96 to re-arrange the banks.

1. The best way is to use two banks - one for the 69 fire & rescue talkgroups and the other for the 87 law enforcement talkgroups. Toggle the second bank on/off as needed.

2. Or using a single bank, you can pick out 9 fire groups which you do not care about then place the remaining 60 in sub-banks 0 & 1. Then use sub-banks 2-4 (toggle them on/off as needed) for the 87 law enforcement groups.

3. Or you can place the least desired 9 fire talkgroups in the beginning slots of sub-bank 2 followed by the most desired 81 police talkgroups into the remaining sub-bank 2 slots and all of sub-bank 3 & 4.

In any case, the total of all talkgroups in both is 156 which will not fit in a single bank.

Set the VHF patch as PRIority

SPERT if you mean that you would like to have the trunked system talkgroup 7A (Dispatch) be set as your priority, then your answer is both yes and no. You cannot set a talkgroup as a priority channel but you can set Montgomery County's VHF channel as your priority. According to the RRDatabase (I'm too far away to verify) Montgomery County patches talkgroup 3344 Fire/Rescue Dispatch to VHF frequency 154.1600 (PL 156.7). If you put this frequency in as your priority channel and keep PRI turned on you will stand a better chance of catching those dispatches. This setup will not be perfect as the radio cannot check the priority channel while it is scanning talkgroups on a trunked system, but it will check every couple of seconds while scanning conventional frequencies.
