Question RE USB cable for 396T

Hello... I saw some 5-pin Wi-Fi cables at Fry's last wk, the other end, of course, was USB. And the cable only costs around $12! Does anyone have any experience with this type as far as will it fit the 396T and thus avoid having to shell out $30 to Uniden for likewise cord? Thanks in advance!

If it's a Wifi cable it will not convert the signal from serial to USB.

The advantage to the Uniden USB-1 is that it is the only Serial-to-USB cable supported by Uniden, so if you have problems and called or emailed for support, they could help.
