Question / suggestion for Uniden

Is it possible to make a USB port charger for the BCD-396T? (I don’t know if the voltage would be correct.) I got this idea after looking at a new Ford Escape that we just received at work. It has a built in USB port for charging iPods and such. What do you think?

I'd like a bass-boost function for the FM broadcast band. Nothin' like jammin' to a 396t in mono!

No problem. You just need a DC-DC converter to bring the USB port's 5V rail up to 6V.

Sounds like something I would like to see from Uniden. Just think of how it may be used. Power from your PC or an iPod charger.
