CPD/CFD question: Can CFD and CPD Districts still be monitored on a scanner? Or is a phone app the only way?

Assuming by "C" you mean "Chicago", having a look at the database, police are fully encrypted as denoted by mode "P25E" . Fire is clear (mode "P25"). Both will be migrating to a trunked radio system in the future
CFD is already on OEMC trunked system. CPD Districts is staying on UHF conventional for now they are also currently on the OEMC system with special units

C is Chicago. Born and raised there. Former Rosemont Public Safety, Retired in Kentucky now. I listen to Both CFD and CPD on the phone app in Ky. but when I travel North to visit, I bring a scanner. Not hearing much on the fav lists on the scanner of CFD anymore. so, I was wondering if they changed as well. Also, if they go to a trunked system as you said, Is that programmable on an SDS 100
And thanks for replying.

CFD is already on the OEMC trunked system in phase 2, Yes it can be monitored on the SDS100 and does good on the 436HP
