I am just curious if I might be able to monitor the CSP from my mobile using BCD996P2 scanner. Some Saturdays we go over to Danielson to kayak. I was thinking maybe some time when we are over there, I might want to listen. Not sure what system to program. We normally stay in the Danielson area. Also how far over the border of RI is it possible to still receive the CSP? I doubt I could hear it from my home in Cranston RI.....I thought maybe with a yagi pointing due west? But the BIG HILLS at the CT/RI border are WAY higher than my location so signal prob would be non existant. But in any case I would like to check out CSP while I am in town. Just not sure what I have to program.

Yes. Look at CLMRN.

You should be able to receive them fine. Depends on the antenna you're using when you go mobile.

Program the control channels in and see what you get..

Troops C,D and E are closest to you.

Yep, exactly this. When I am at work I boarder the L and H sites, so there picking up H is very difficult without a Unication or other device like it. L from that location comes in fine, but its signal drowns out H. Now if I go down rt. 10 into Plainville / Farmington H comes in fine with a standard scanner, same with L. Location is key. From home in Avon I get Troop L Site just fine, its active.

Ive used a 325p2, PSR-800, TRX1, G4/5, P25rx same results, again in the fringe H comes in poorly on anything but a G or P25rx, but thats because my office sits where L and H overlap.
