I am still hearing numerous medical calls on what's listed as the Sanger's Fire Dispatch Channel This channel is confirmed to be at Bear and I am presuming that this is some kind of area wide medic paging channel. I also hear non-Sanger fire personnel being dispatched on here also. Maybe this is a cooperative channel that was a result of the tri-county EMS dispatching consolidation?

Would I be correct in thinking that the low level repeater channel 154.340 the active low lever repeater for Sanger Fire's dispatch and command? (Presuming if this the case then 155.055 - fm. the FCC tables to be the correct input.)

Sanger FD is dispatched by Central California Emergency Medical Association based out of Fresno. CCEMSA also dispatches for a number of other small fire agencies in Fresno County. CCEMSA uses the small agency existing channels and simul-selects them all together. The only time the small agencies hear the transmission intended for their agency is when the Dispatcher selects their PL tone.

If you have a scanner that you can attach a PL (CCTSS) tone to the Sanger PD frequency, then you will be able to block out all the rest of the traffic and hear only Sanger Fire. If your scanner doesn't allow PL tones, they you are going to continue to get all of the traffic.

I am listening with the listed pl. I get a lot of medical and ems type of traffic on what I presume to be th Bear Mt repeater, as I am hearing this with a high signal here in Merced Co. Is there a different pl that should be used to get just the Sanger Fire traffic? (Though I doubt that Sanger really uses this with their 154.340 low level repeater that is in town.)

Well - Try 155.03250 110.9. They actually have two repeaters. One at Bear and one local. They both use the same frequency pair (leased to them by Cook's Communication) with a receive PL of 110.9. Transmit PL is different to hit either Bear or Local. the 154.3400 is actually a simplex channel they now call Tac 2.

Okay - I make sure I understand, the Bear repeater always put out a tone of 110.8 and only changes when the input tone changes? (Unlike the traditional community repeater setup) Ya have to make it "fireman simple" for me sometimes, especially when I am not close enough to hear both sides.

I understand the different input tones for "Bear" and "In-town." Part of my confusion lies with the fact that .340 is licensed as a repeater frequency as well as mobile use.

Thanks for clearing the murky water.

Sanger has two channels for their Command. The output for both channels is 110.9 (what you are receiving on your radio or scanner). The input PL (to key up the specific transmitter) varies depending on what transmitter they want to use - Bear for wide area or Local for Local Sanger. They can switch between their channel One for Command or Channel two for Local Command.

I can't answer why they put .340 into a simplex channel for tactical.

I took this data right out of one of their radios about a month ago, so it is still accurate.

I just wanted to make sure /I was understanding right. It seems they do things a bit differently down there in the Fresno area... Thanks again.

When it comes to dispatching small agency fire departments, yes it is a little different. And the politics don't help any...

Not sure if you ever cleared up your question, or if this even helps, but here in Tuolumne Co, the Sanger FD freq from the database brings me CalFire TCU, so if you live in Merced (about halfway between the 2 points) is it possible that is actually what you get mixed in? I'm going to try the tone info listed by others here to see if I can't block CalFire and do better myself.

I am not seeing any shared frequencies. But, I do use the PL on the Sanger stuff.
