Is it necessary to assign Quick Keys to a favorites list. My scanner has 1 favorites list (with no Quick Key assigned to it). I'm planning to add a second favorites list, so do I have to assign a Quick Key to it since my first list does not have one assigned or do I need to assign a Quick Key to each favorites list. I plan on listening to only one favorites list at a time by turning them on or off in the scan selection.

Still trying to figure out the purpose of Quick Keys.

Quick Keys are as the name implies, a quicker way to select and unselect compared to using the menu.
But you are not forced to use QK if you don't want to.

As said above, you do not. There will be fewer key presses involved with using Quick Keys.

Should you decide to use Quick Keys, you may wish to incorporate the Quick Key number in the name of the Favorites List. For example I have a Favorites List for something called "MetroSafe" with a Quick Key of 1. So I've programmed the Favorites List to be "F1 - MetroSafe". It helps to remember which FL Quick Keys are associated with which FL as they are seen in the display.
