I live in Stanislaus County in Central Calif,
Would the ws1065 be good enough for me?
Just want it to ems police and fire.
And so far everyone is going to P25 Phase 1.
Thanx.
the reason I picked the ws1065 is I saw it on sale

Looks like pd's are moving to this system https://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=8626 which is the Stanislaus Regional 911 system and it is phase 1 and looks like most is in the clear. Your ws1065 should work great. It's showing only one site but it doesn't say anything about being simulcast though. Yep should work.

Its simulcast https://forums.radioreference.com/threads/stanislaus-regional-911-trunked-system.330358/
Whistlers do LOUSY on them, garbled to no reception.
See - https://forums.radioreference.com/threads/ws1040-ws1065-vs-simulcast-800.381540/

Your looking at getting a Uniden then. You may not need the very high end ones, I.e. 536hp. sds series, 325p2, 996p2 do fairly well.

If you click the link simmsrep shows, click on the "Stanislaus Regional 911 " it will show the FCC license, click on that and thats where it shows the multiple towers, https://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?fccCallsign=WQRM992 Same frequency sets.

I thought it was odd for it to have only 1 site for such a county of that size. Ronaldski is correct, the ws1065 is not that good on simulcast.

I have the 1065, and using it in addition to two other scanners to try and follow my local Ohio MARCS P25 Phase 1 simulcast system was a lesson in futility, and I'd have to say the 1065 was the worst of the 3 digital scanners I employed. (536/trx-1). Garbled transmissions, total stops and silent gaps, chop-chop sounds. My TRX-1 handled lsm much much better. Now that I am happily monitoring that same system with a pair of SDS scanners, I have delegated the 1065 to less stressful duties :) On anything but digital P25 simulcast, the 1065 rocks.
