Joe it quoted him word for word. If you mean that its not quoting what he (scanlists) had quoted then there are many boards that will not quote a quote. Oh and I think you mean #869 since 826 does not belong to you.

If you look at my reply (#826), you will see that the quoted text is run together and does not truly reflect that the person quoted said.

Okay, I noticed that the Quote function is just completely different in this implementation, so I started answering posts in a seperate window. This allows me to construct and also to refer to the original thread (since that also disappears while answering.) But as Dubbin points out, apparently Quotes of Quotes are disregarded, but if you construct one it will work.

For Example:
Inner Text
Outer Text

I'm here a lot
It does make the egg-heads on the list look rather foolish when their words are slopped together with those not as astute as them.

Yep - 869 (another bug - there is no blushing or embarrassed icon)

And yes, it quoted what he said, but took it completely out of context.

Take the following example:

I think the BCD396T is a great scanner due to all the new features![\quote]
Dubbin has a good point

RalphX123 was talking trash about the BCD396T and says it's garbage [\quote]
But, he is an idiot, so ignore what he says

when I reply to that post, it is quoted as:
Dubbin has a good point
But, he is an idiot, so ignore what he says[\qupte]
See how that changed the meaning of the original text :p
In reality, you were complimented, but it got quoted as an insult.

I don't know what is going on, but every time I try to fix the formatting errors in my above post, when I hit SUBMIT CHANGES my PC locks up (and I almost NEVER have that problem with this one). There is enough there that you get the idea. I'm really starting to miss the old board. But, if things get misquoted, so be it. Just don't blame it on the person posting because it may not be his fault.

Lindsay has said he is going to update the smilies soon. It was already brought to his attention in the admin forum.

Hey watch who you're calling an idiot. You're the one that can't get the quotes to work  :D J/K
I think I see what you are talking about now though.

Hey. I never called you an idiot. :p

But, it sure does look like I did due to the bug (or shortcoming).

But, it was an effective example, wasn't it?

Quotes should not change the meaning of a post - especially as my example did. (or would have)

I did try to copy Lou's formatting, but I kept getting the lockup problem (likely another bug in the system - probably due to the
and [\quote])
