Question,
How would you set up R 8600 to use DSD plus on a computer ?
Just want to decode with it, I currently am using a R 7100 with discriminator tapped and into laptop line in plug.
What hardware would I also need Ex cable from receiver to computer

Thanks!!

Unfortunately, the 8600 does not have anything like a discriminator tap for wideband (unfiltered) audio output. The audio output bandwidth is limited by the IF filter selected, and it's just not wide enough for something like DMR, unless you set the receiver for WFM, in which case your selectivity may be too wide for crowded conditions. If you use software like SDR# and use it to tune the 12 kHz IF output from the 8600 and then VB Cable to route the audio to DSD+, you can make DMR work. There is a YouTube video that shows how to do this. You may want to stick with your 7100.

Not sure if you saw this relating to the 8600 feeding into DSD+

You will set up the input device for SDR# as the "I/Q from soundcard", set up the audio input (I use USB audio from the 8600), set up the audio output to VB Cable, uncheck "filter audio", and tune SDR# to 12.5 kHz. Then you will start DSD+ setting up the input as VB Cable, and the output as your sound device. On the 8600 you would set your feed to SDR# to "IF" and the level to about 50%. I use the USB audio (from the rear jack, set to IF) as the feed to SDR#. There is a YouTube video involving an R-7100 and HDSDR that involves the same procedure.

I would be great if DSD+ could use the I/Q right from the 8600. That would eliminate all the audio routing stuff.
