r5000 kenwood reciver vfo no longer works HELP

I have a old r5000 kenwood reciver that the vfo is no longer oprateable
is there any way I can still use the reciver by punching in the freaks... I need to listen to
by direct key

This really isn't a professional radio issue, however...the keypad has a well known fault that after a few years, it 'bounces' - that is, it repeats the same number. It might be a long shot to send it to Kenwood - but before you do that, I would try posting a question on this Yahoo group (all links are in blue)
