R8500 R8500 Firmware?

Does the R8500 support any way to update the firmware?
If so, has there ever been any firmware updates for it?

My reason for asking is to see if there is any way I could add 7.5 and 15 KHz. channel spacing to the VFO mode. (I ain't holding my breath however!)

I found out from Scott that one can program a custome step size into the R8500 by using the Step Up button until the display shows a "P" then type in the selected step size. It solved my issue!
