I would like to get into sleuthing for signals with the waterfall etc on HDSDR but when I connect to my R8600 I can only pick up a few strong stations and the audio isn't great. Any settings I'm missing?

I guess since no one will reply I'll reply to myself-apparently the poor reception caused by my SPL-2 antenna splitter. I disconnected the other radio connection and the problem has disappeared-don't know why

A typical 2-port passive signal splitter, such as the SPL-2, reduces the signal out of each port by about 3 dB (about half of the original signal). That's why.

Active splitters and multicouplers can compensate (sometimes too much) for such loss.
