Hi all,

Is it possible to output the audio over USB, but still be able to use the controls on the radio?
I can control and listen to the radio via USB in SDRConsole or HDSDR, but I guess it should be possible to just output the audio and pipe it into whatever software I want.

It would be nice to be able to access the audio over the LAN too, but I've not found much about that apart from having to buy the icom software.

When plugged in the radio should appear as a standard USB audio device, in addition to the serial ports used for cat control. They are independent, so you can route the audio however you like and still use the radio controls (in macOS it just shows up, I don't know if you need to install any drivers in Windows).

I've never found any documentation on routing the audio over the LAN, even though ICOM calls out that feature.

Ah, interesting. Thanks for that!
I'm using macOS and was trying to passthrough the USB connection to a VM. I'll try and pass though the input device to the VM instead!

Hello,

The Audio over LAN is used with the RS-R8600 program for Remote Control.

Yes, shame it's not easily accessible outside of that software.
I saw that ports 50001-50003 were supposed to be used for that, but didn't get any further with looking to see how it was used.
