R8600 R8600 Scan, resumes at 1 sec no matter what

What did I do wrong?

I was scanning a busy group of aircraft freqs with strong signals, but the radio would not hold on a busy channel; it would resume scanning after 1 sec no matter how long the transmission was. I tried to diddle all the settings but no joy.

Finally I sent a bank of NOAA weather freqs to the radio via software and scanned those to see what would happen, and it stopped doing it. Now it stays on a busy freq until the end of the transmission as it should and then resumes scanning.

Hmmm.

Did I do something wrong to make this thing resume at 1 sec no matter what?

Adjust your Pause Time setting. While scanning, rotate the upper left knob clockwise until it states hold. That will hold on the signal until it disappears. If you push the same knob you can also control how long it stays on the frequency after the signal disappears. Page 9-2 of the manual.

Thanks here too. I had the same problem and was too lazy to read the manual. I had pushed the upper left knob but forgot if you simply turn it there are other options.

I've done the same here many times by pushing Dial A in first and forgetting the setting I really need does not require the push but rather a simple rotation of the knob.
