Des Moines was just rebanded early this AM, It follows the System S plan.

So far the only LCNs coming back active are 3, 5, 6 and 7.

Des Moines used to be an 8-LCN site so maybe they are still working on the other set. ALSO, West Des Moines RACOM is now offline, more info to come.

Des Moines site added some channels and threw me a little curve ball, but its all figured out now.

Des Moines:
System S, Site 1:
1. 856.5875
2. 857.5875
3. 858.5875
4. 859.5875
5. 860.5875
6. 861.5875
7. 854.0875
8. 861.0875
9. 855.9125

Techinically, there should be another channel added as LCN 1 & 4 haven't been seen yet. I'll keep monitoring to see if it comes active. Either they will turn on 1, 4 or add LCN 10.

Adam, didn't you find some licenses to RACOM for some new sites like Urbandale? Any chance we might see any new sites come online now that rebanding is mostly finished in the metro?

There sure is, the Urbandale site is actually what they call the West Des Moines site. There is another site i have yet to see under license WQKD863, called Prairie City. Which is located just south of the Mitchellville prison. Another one is Redfield, which was on older RACOM maps but has been removed as of this years versions. BTW, the Redfield and Prairie City sites had a construction date of 4-14-2010, but I have yet to see any new CCs on the air. Guess we will see what the future holds!

Yes, Some of the frequencies appear out of order. There are a few systems with frequencies missing, but all the sites showing as rebanded have all been verified.

Can anyone tell me why Starcom21 changed the site 1311 from Vinton to Emmetsburg? Last I checked, Emmetsburg wasn't in Benton county and the Vinton site is legit.

I've noticed several other sites that the lat & long were pointing to that same area. Looks like he assumed the lat and long were correct and changed the site location based on that.

I use a BC996T with a GPS to listen to most RACOM sites as I travel. I also listen to and have programmed in all the Starcom21 sites in Illinois using GPS coordinates.

Just a little update on this sine its been a while.

Rebanding is done all the way thru I-35, including the Des Moines area and all sites East. With the exception of Fort Dodge and the DSM metro, nothing west of I-35 has been done yet.

Last word I had was the Omaha service area is re-programming subscriber units and when that is done the sites will be re-tuned. No firm ETA on that yet but it will be posted here when changes are noted.

Another big THANK YOU to those that have helped with this project, without the statewide cooperation of all the scanner enthusiasts none of this would have been possible. There are still a few holes to fill here and there but those should be hammered out in the near future.

Slightly OT, does anyone know of any other TRS in Iowa that are not retuned yet or is this the last one?

I went by this water tower a couple days ago, I didn't notice any equipment at all on the water tower. Is this the same water tower is sit on the South side of the big truck stop?

Mason City appears to be following the System A logic, at least according to the FCC license.

Try this for starters:
Mason City, System A:
1. 856.0125
2. 857.0125
3. 858.0125
4. 859.0125
5. 860.0125
6. 861.0125
7. 854.0125

Please let me know if you find anything on these channels so i can adjust my info.

Thanks!
