Possible, does the new license reflect the current channels in use at Oelwein?
My opinion is that RACOM, since they already have to reband 85% of their system and change system IDs, might as well change them all to something more logical. This early in the game, its hard to see any kind of pattern but maybe they are going to try and stray away from the 16 sites systemwide routine and every site actually has a unique ID from now on. Meaning sites that are currently compliant with the rebanding will still need their site ID changed, even if thats all that changes.
Again, as usual, its all speculation. And as there have only been 5 sites rebanded, we simply dont have enough information to go on.
I want to add also, just because frequencies dont show up under the RACOM license does not mean they cant be used. There are currently a number of sites that are either partially or entirely licensed under the agency / organization that uses them, but used in conjunction with frequencies licensed to RACOM. A good example is the Collins site that is still operating under a Marshall County license. Later today im going to see if i can find any new license grants to places other than RACOM.
I also find it interesting that they now have a license for a site in Urbandale and Prairie City. Possible expansion in the future? Anyone else notice anything like that?
Copy and paste from old post, i edited it before i refreshed
Found a possible discrepancy in my findings in regards to the Malcolm site. 859.1375 may or may not be LCN 15. Not sure how i missed this one, but Pella has the same freq for LCN 4. From my receive location, its POSSIBLE i may have coincidently heard the Pella site every time he tested LCN 15 at Malcolm. Im leaning towards HeartThrobs findings that 854.1875 may actually be the proper LCN 15 for Malcolm. I have it set in my receiver, im going to try and see if it comes active. Sucky part about my location, Pella and Malcolm are the same distance from me so they sound the same signal-wise haha. Maybe Fireside can chime in here since he is in a much better spot to tell when it is active. Thanks again to everyone helping with this!
