Radio agreement signed in georgia

The Roswell City Council unanimously approved a contribution agreement Monday with the North Fulton Regional Radio System Authority.

Under a weighted share agreement with Alpharetta, Milton and Sandy Springs, Roswell will pay about $5 million into the $16 million unified radio system project.

All four cities signed agreements in 2013 to cover the development and implementation costs of the public safety radio system, with Roswell the last to sign an agreement transferring its assets over to the authorit

It is interesting to note that Johns Creek told them to take a hike that they would go with the New Fulton County replacement system, that replaces the well aged system that most are currently using. It will be interesting to see which systems work best when fully turned on, if they can be made to function as advertised.

All the jurisdictions/users in the North Fulton County have had Atlanta Communications come out and program in the "new" channels. I work for an agency that utilizes the old Analog system, yet no one has knowledge if the new channels are for Fulton or NFRRSA!

Antennas and MW dishes now going up on a couple of the towers. Both systems will be in the 700Mz band and no frequencies have been listed or licensed as far as I can search. More later as it crawls up the towers....

Also, the strange thing about Johns Creek is that they are dispatched by ChatComm. ChatComm dispatches for Sandy Springs. Sandy Springs is going with NFRRSA (along with Roswell, Milton & Alpharetta). Johns Creek will be up a creek when ever they respond on mutual aid and ChatComm assigns one of their TGs for mutual aid. In the long run, I will venture to say that everyone in North Fulton County will have BOTH systems in their radios so they can have that so called "interoperability".

On a side note, Forsyth County will also have channels on the NFRRSA as well.

Thanks for the update. I changed from MS to Mac World 3 years ago and had lost my links within the FCC.GOV to search properly as it has been almost 4 years since I have done a search.
