I'm looking to replace my '03 Tahoe with a '12 model. I'd like to install the remote control heads (a total of 4 control heads, plus 3 mics and some auxiliary switches to turn two of the radios on/off) so I don't have to crane my neck around to see the displays and operate the controls. As far as I know, that all but rules out the commercial 'tween-the-seat, 10"-mini-rack mount deals, even though they all look great and seem easy to install.
I'm not opposed to mounting the control heads, mics, and switches all on a flat 12"x14" or so panel and using some kind of gooseneck-like or articulated arm setup to elevate it up in front of the built-in stereo controls, for example. But I don't know where to get anything stiff or sturdy enough to support such a panel and 4 control heads, 3 mics, wiring, and switches; I'd say it'll come in at a coupla four or five pounds, maybe.
Any suggestions on something that will up such a panel in a position that is a little closer to in front of me than a console rack? I'm not opposed to doing some fab, but obviously something turnkey would be preferred.
Thanks.
[Edit: I read a few recent threads on Tahoe setups, but none addressed my question specifically; thanks.]
