Greetings,
Yes I know this is a scanner website....
My question is about portable radios, please no flames:roll:

To MONITOR the NH and VT systems would an HT1550XLS work, or would it need to be an XTS2500 / XTS5000 or similar digital.

The vast majority of LE comms in NH are P25 digital, so you would need an XTS. However, few fire/rescue agencies use P25. Also, the vast majority of LE comms in Vermont are UHF.

I have an XTS3000, with a wide open codeplug.
I would like to make use of that, but I think that's a trip to batlabs....

NH = VHF
VT = UHF

"Wide Open Code Plug" or not, your radio is not going to do both bands.

Best to stay with a Digital Scanner
