Where do you find the serial number in Sentinel, without having to take the battery compartment off? I only see the 16 digit code. Thank you if you can help.

In the scanner go to Menu>Settings>See Scanner Info>Firmware Ver=S/N
When I did that, its the same 16-digit number, I read on here its a different code to register but was possible without taken the unit apart.

The number seen through the scanner's menu system is the Electronic Serial Number (ESN) - followed by the check sum (SUM)

The number in the battery compartment is the Serial Number (SN).

Replace the "260" in your ESN in the scanner's info screen with the letter Z to get the serial number on the battery compartment tag.

For example... if:

ESN = 37926038001234

Then:

SN = 379Z38001234
