I couldn't figure out where to put this, So I figured the wasteland would be a good place, anyways I was always wondering a few things about two-way radios

1. When/What was the first two-way radio

2. When/What was the first repeater?

3 When/what was the first encryption capable radio?

4 When did the different forms of digital come about?

5 When did trunked come about?/What was the first trunked radio?

6 When/What was the first radio that incorporated trunked/digital/encrypted all in one?

You just might want to read here for a little bit of history...

I have some of the answers.

The first two way radio in the US was AM and installed in a patrol car in Bayonne, NJ in 1933. The first one way AM radio was used by Detroit in 1927. The first FM two way radios were used by the Connecticut state police. However, honors for the first two way radio system in the world goes to the Victoria Police in Australia.

Don't know about the rest of the questions though.

All good post Gentlemen!
I have been a self proclaimed student of Radio History myself. One of my favorite radio inventers I like to read about is Edwin H. Armstrong. His inventions include FM ,Regeneration, and the superhytrodine receiver.
Just do a Google search on Edwin H.Armstrong.You will stay busy a while.
