• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I have the CPS and the client radio management install no problem. When I try to install the Job processor and the RM server on win 10 home I get unable to start system services. Check you permissions. I don't even have system services on the brand new 2 month old dell laptop. Called dell and they say I only have hardware support and want $170 for software support. They claim they know what It is nd how to fix it. Anybody ran across this and have a solution? I swear I will return this dell to costo for a refund before I pay $170 to dell for something that is so simple to them.

When you ran the setup did you right click an select run as administrator ?

Did you look for errors in the event log ?

When you look at services can you start the process manually ?

Yes on running as admin. Don't remember on if I could start the services process or not. I did go to window admin tool and under service I found a process called Motorola RM Job processor. I checked the properties and didn't understand fully what I was looking at. Don't know anything about an event Log. I will be glad to try again and get the answers if you can point me in the direction of what to look for.

Is the account you're using itself, account-wide, an admin account on the machine?

It is my personal laptop and I am the only user and set as administrator. My user id is local to the machine and not a network or remote login or anything

Also make sure you have Internet connectivity when you install / start RM at least once.

Also, unrelated to your current issue: It is very important that all items in RM have the same time source (NTP, manually, etc). They must be within a minute or so of each other or you will have pain. When all are installed on one machine, this is no big deal. But, when in a production environment, it becomes more of a challenge. TT
