Radio microphone frequencys US

Hi,

I have been trying to find what frequencies can be used for radio microphones throughout the US. I can find state information but I have been unable to locate US wide information. I would like to know what frequencies are available and if licenses are needed ect. There is a frequency list table on the NTIA web but it doesnt go into detail . Can anyone tell me where I can get this sort of information.

unfortunately there is no single source of info.... each city has a person among the broadcasters who acts as a freq coordinator.... these things generally havevery low tx power and are usually only a bother to the out-of-town folks who haven't bothereed to check ahead and see which uhf or vhf tv stations are on their freqs... or if two shooters show up at the same event with the same freq.... they coiver the spectrum from low to high but currently the vogue is uhf.....

Find out if SBE (Society of Broadcast Engineers) has a local chapter web site in your area.
They do here in the DFW area and it has a frequency coordination database with all the wireless mic, remote pickup, and ENG freqs.

I once downloaded a file from MIT that listed a hundred fm wireless freqs. Dumped the file some time ago. Check audio mfg's of fm mics by mfg name and each style of mic uses VHF and UHF freqs. Broadcast stations use some really off the wall freqs. Good Luck, Larry
