For those who have used Radio Mobile, I was wondering about the option in the online version in which it asks for a % required reliability. I would think that for the data (packet) operation that I do, I would want very close to 100%. I have run plots with 98%, and it seems to match my limited testing of real-world conditions. Does reliability take into account things like foliage? I realize every setup is different due to terrain and other conditions, but are there settings that are fairly good to start with? The default of 70 % reliability gives very optimistic results in my plots.

Thanks for any advice,

Bob

I don't have an 'exact' answer to your question. But, I can say with fairly good reliability that the lower you have that 'reliability' setting, and it still meets you requirements, the better chances of you doing what you intend to do. I don't figure I'm telling you anything you haven't already thought of...
