Radio programming tracking?

With these scanners that have unlimited programming capability, I am wondering how you keep track of what is programmed into the scanner and how you can reference the various banks, systems & groups quickly during events that happen?

I use location and quicks keys. Back when i had a conventional scanner with banks, I started out with PD in bank 1, Fire in 2, etc. So now, I use those same banks to turn on all PD, all FD, all Business, etc. I also use Location control so that when I turn on all PD, it only will listen for the PD around me. So far, works good. Between that and the full database, I hear what i want, and less of what i don't
