Radio Shack 800 Mhz Handhell Antenna

Does anyone have any sugggestions on how to connect an RS 800 antenna to a BCD396T without using the supplied SMA to BNC adaptor?

In other words, anyone figure out how to marry these two together without adding an inch to the height?
