Hey all, anybody know how long a 9v battery should last in Radio Shack's signal amp? I found mine today and it makes a HUGE difference.
Thanks all.

I just can't believe how much of a difference it really makes. I have the portable one as well, it's on my Pro-96. For Cobra Commander, make sure you get at least one rechargeable 9v from Radio Shack, mine is always on.

Do ya'll pick up a lot of 8 interferences on 800 while using the amp?

Im not sure on what you mean on 8 interference, But I do get interference when I get into the center of town, the main reason for that is because of intermod. But to fix that I just hit the Attenuator. Clears out well.
I also use it on my Yeasu VX-7R since it has continues coverage ( 0-999 MHZ) it picks up everything. JUST DONT TRANSMIT WITH IT ON!

The Att feature on my Pro-96 works beautifully. On rare occasions I did hear some buzzing even with the Att turned on when using the portable GRE Amp. I now use an amplifier that a buddy of mine gave me. He works for the cable company, & I believe it's a cable signal amp. In my opinion it works way better than the GRE amp, & best of all it was free! :D I don't hear no buzzing & the att works nice with it. Maybe cause it's not as powerful as the GRE version. I live in a busy County, with a lot going on all the time. I have the Amp hooked up to a Scantenna on my roof. The cable amp is only 13.5db, compared to the 20db of the GRE model. This one only works from 54-1000 MHz, & does a really nice job of picking up 800 MHz systems from a few cities over.

Interference wise I really can't think of anything that may be causing it. It's mainly only on the SO's system that I'm hearing it, but for some reason I can pick up the next county with no problem, but I have trouble picking up my own county.
